I am LaDreka Vaughn. Born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, but Houston, Texas is home. I am a mother to two amazing young men, an author, and someone that is continuously striving to do better and be better. With that being said, I recently made a move and have been living and working in China for almost a year with my youngest son. This experience has been the most life altering move of my life.
It would probably be easier for me to say that I moved to China because of my unwavering passion to teach and reach others all over the world; it’s true, but I could have stayed in Texas for that. My move to China was my cry for help. My way of pulling myself out of a dark place of depression, feeling unworthy, heartbroken, and lost. It was a way for me to disconnect and revamp my life; on my terms. Some would say I was running; maybe so, but this was something that had to be done for me.
As long as I can remember, I have been at battle with my personal insecurities, love and relationships, and the everyday struggles of being a single mother. Far too many times I can remember dealing with "stuff" but I managed to get dressed and put on my happy face. That is exhausting y'all....sitting pretty and smiling around friends and family, then driving home with tears running down your face for more reasons than you can name. Those days revisit me from time to time, but the time has come for me to remove this mask that I've been wearing for far too long!

My goal is inspire women all over the world to be their authentic selves; no matter what other people think, and to create dialogue between women where we can inspire and uplift each other as the masks start coming off.
